Find your highest point
Your “highest point” is where you feel comfortable and confident while doing something. If you were sitting at your computer desk, then that would be your head! Where there are multiple muscles in your neck being used to sit up, keep your eyes forward, and make contacts with others.
But maybe you’re not feeling totally secure or supported by yourself when you look down. This might be the case for someone who feels small boned.
Maybe you’re around people who think less of you or don’t trust you or value you much. Or maybe you have difficulty giving deep friendships and relationships in your life.
These are all signs that you may be small boned. But it can also manifest itself in other ways. For example, you could carry some unexpressed anger from childhood about having been so often hurt and neglected.
Or perhaps you unconsciously avoided partnerships that required cooperation and collaboration. And as you grew older, any repeated failures to reach career goals caused you stress and anxiety.
It’s normal to go through cycles of trying to achieve certain milestones and accomplishments and failing repeatedly. It’s how we learn and grow as humans. But sometimes these attempts to suppress feelings of fear, doubt, and sadness can give way to an inability to accomplish tasks and objectives.
Psychologists call this condition psychopathy.
If you suffer from psychopathology, working toward your goals
Do you like your fingers to get easily between your ribs?
There’s a reason that some people appreciate their ribcage more than others – it is because they are small-boned. If you find yourself wanting to swallow or chew, this may be due to your thin bone structure.
Although it can be helpful to identify any underlying causes, it should be noted that not all slender people are born with skinny bones. Your build depends partly on genetics, but also on how much time and effort you put into growing up with a slim frame.
If you were raised eating reasonably healthy food and neither of your parents had an underweight stature, there isn’t a whole lot you can do at this stage to fix your bony structure. Getting regular exercise is good for anyone regardless of whether you have osteoporosis or asthma.
These are things you can do right now to improve your posture and prevent injury down the line.
Do your shoulders feel narrow?
Most people have wide shoulders, but small-boned individuals tends to make their arms and legs thinner. For example, watch someone peel off an apple with their hands; this person can probably slip their arm between their body and the table’s edge.
This is because they don’t contain much excess flesh in that area. It’s similar to how dancers are able to move across a floor with less effort.
If you feel tight when you hug somebody or get close to them, then you may be dense enough to require additional precautions. This only occurs when you feel comfortable and relaxed around certain people.
Do you prefer to hold onto something while walking (like a purse, train ticket, etc.)? If so, chances are you were born holding things closely. This ability to grip tightly is natural, and one of the ways we gain mobility as adults is by letting go of stuff we used to grab tight.
Also, do you have trouble putting clothes back on after taking them off? Or do you find it hard to relax first getting up from a chair? These are all signs you were born with a compulsive personality.
You might say that you had a compulsive nature at some point, but now you “know better,” and that maybe you made a choice earlier to let your nervous system handle everything around you. But did you know what was bothering you in later life? Did you
Are you a bit taller than average?
Height is one of the most common indicators that you’re possibly shorter boned. After all, we usually hear about height being a sign of attractiveness.
But if you happen to be slightly tall, that could simply mean you were born with well-developed muscles or you put more stress on your bones to help you grow. It can also indicate something else entirely — like an overactive growth hormone signal causing unusual bone development at a young age.
To diagnose this condition, doctors look for excess growth velocity in childhood. They watch how long you take to get taller and see whether you reach your peak height early (before 18 years old). Then they measure your leg length and check to see what percent of children have shortened legs.
If you fall into this category, talk to your doctor about taking extra measures to strengthen your body. There are many exercises you can do including push ups, sit ups, yoga, and swimming.
Do you need to stand on your head to look up?
There are many reasons why you might be small boned, but in most cases it is hereditary
However, being small boned doesn’t always mean you are prone to stress or pressure injuries, as blood flow
Do you get nervous going on a date?
Although most of us are born with an average size brain, it’s very important to realize that not all of them are healthy.
Even if you score high on IQ tests, you can still have a small brain made out of that average-sized head you have.
And while some people may actually have brain sized heads, they might also have weak minds. This is why so many things can seem more difficult for someone with a strong mind.
A person with a weaker mind is less likely to put in the effort to solve a problem. They may let something go because they didn’t focus enough or they gave up too soon.
But everyone has things about their personality they don’t like and find annoying. These quirks can be part of what makes someone unique.
Maybe you’re always making mistakes and feel as though you need to prove yourself to others. Or maybe you feel like the world revolves around you and wants to please your every desire.
These are all signs of a larger issue that needs addressing. Hopefully talking to a therapist will help you work through any difficulties you’re having.
Are you left-handed?
Most right-handed people are born with an advantage in hand tool use. Because they are used to writing or drawing with their dominant side, they know how to organize things in their mind for later use.
Also, most right-handed people can write and draw facing them, without turning back to see which way it is going to go. By contrast, many left-handed people always try to put more effort into using their right hands.
It is easier to switch back than to learn to use the other hand correctly. People who were not born with this ability may spend years trying to adapt to having a non-dominant hand, making their life very difficult.
Do you feel dizzy?
There’s a reason that people get vertigo (dizziness) sometimes when they stand up or move around. It is because the vestibular system in our inner ears is not connected to any sensory input at all, which means it’s totally blind.
When we are sitting down or standing with steady posture, this disconnect causes uncertainty. Our brain tries to resolve this confusion—and turns out “I am standing” and “the earth is spinning” were not the answers it found!
Thus, we experience queasiness and a sense of disorientation. When we realize what is happening, we can take action to prevent it from being enhanced further.
For example, if we are spending time outdoors, then more precautions should be taken as falling and becoming disabled may both occur simultaneously.
Do you get lightheaded when you stand up?
The way most people identify being small boned is by having a hard time standing up. If you feel dizzy or unstable when you try to walk, sit down quickly. If you’re claustrophobic or have a fear of heights, this can make it even harder to balance yourself.
If you have difficulty balancing yourself, you are likely also dealing with a lot of other health issues. Being balanced uses a range of muscles in your body, so if you are weak from not eating enough, you will be more susceptible to falls.
Medical professionals often don’t consider someone thin unless their weight is within two pounds of what is considered underweight. People who are overweight but not obese may face an increased risk for some health conditions.
