Although game night usually is focused on fun, eating well while playing games is important to ensure your body has all the necessary nutrients it needs.

Certain foods are good for you and can help make your game time more enjoyable. One of these is the B vitamin family, which includes thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, and panthothenic acid.

These antioxidants-rich foods aid in digestion and provide other benefits including relief from nervous system disorders such as chronic pain and tremors.

Digestion starts with chewing muscles, so food that is cooked or processed will be harder to digest and enjoyable if you eat lots of raw foods like vegetables and fruits.

Another helpful food option is iron. Most people don’t realize how much iron is in beer, but athletes know how important it is to have enough iron in their diets to get them through those tough days when they aren’t sleeping right, feeling tired, or wanting to play hard stuff.

Luckily, it only takes drinking a cup of hot chocolate or some popcorn to feel full and content. Iron also helps move oxygen around the body, so we want our bodies to process it as easily as possible.

EFAs serve an important function in your health. They help protect against cardiovascular damage, promote good skin integrity, and aid other functions.

But eating too many EFA has been linked to gastrointestinal issues. Also, since they take zooplankton (small creatures found in water) don’t digest them well, taking too much omega-3s at one time can lead to diarrhea.
