What harms the body more? Fat or Sugar?

In the meantime, there is really a suitable diet for every diet: high fat, low carb, low fat – who is supposed to keep track? And which nutrients are actually responsible for weight gain and orange peel skin? And what helps to lose weight: a low-fat or a high-fat diet? And what was that again about carbohydrates?

With these findings from the following study, your doubts will finally be put to rest….

For a study to determine the advantages and disadvantages of low-carbohydrate and high-fat diets, Harvard professor David Ludwig and his colleagues studied a subject group of 164 overweight and obese individuals.

They were divided into three groups and given different diet plans over a 20-week period. These plans were designed to be high, medium and low carbohydrate diets, respectively.

You can find the results of this study on the next page….

The results of the study which were published in the British Medical Journal, showed that metabolic benefits can indeed be achieved through a ketogenic diet. This involves eating a diet low in carbohydrates and high in fat, and in this way long-term success is achieved.

Nevertheless, the scientists emphasized that a high-carbohydrate, low-fat diet can also help with weight loss. It is important to distinguish individually from person to person what works best for them and their body.

So: Always listen to your body!
